Lead Carpenter

Seeking a flexible individual with diverse carpentry skills, and an instinct for customer service, to serve as the site lead for new homes, and/or owner-occupied remodel projects. The Lead Carpenter will self-perform a broad range of rough and finish carpentry tasks while coordinating the day-to-day work of subcontractors and providing regular progress reports to clients. Top candidates will have at least ten years' hands-on experience in the construction industry, unfailing attention to detail, a professional demeanor and excellent verbal communication skills, knowledge of all building phases frame to finish, ability to understand and execute based on architectural drawings, and the willingness to work as part of a collaborative team. Previous exposure to green building techniques is preferred, but not required. All candidates are expected to have reliable transportation and a basic set of carpentry tools.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating projected time & costs with job estimates and timelines.
- Performing deconstruction, framing, trim, paint, finish and punch list work
- Coordinating the flow of work through the job site and ensuring that all staff and subcontractor work meets Greenleaf quality standards
- Preparing the work site so that subcontractors can set up quickly and work efficiently
- Proactively solving on-site production issues as they arise, consulting with Greenleaf owners and project architects whenever needed.
- Providing clients with regular updates on job progress, production schedules, and key decision points, and providing Greenleaf Owners with an up-to-date reading on client satisfaction
- Arranging and meeting with inspectors

This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with a competitive wage plus benefits, depending on experience. 48 hours of vacation time and 40 hours of sick time, is available after 1 year of employment.

Crew

Seeking talented, able bodied, driven, and exacting frame-to-finish, high-end carpenter with at least 5 years' experience. This individual will have diverse carpentry skills as well as good customer service skills. Top candidates have an unfailing attention to detail, a professional demeanor and excellent verbal communication skills, knowledge of all building phases frame to finish, ability to understand and execute based on architectural drawings, and the willingness to work as part of a collaborative team. Candidates must be able to keep detailed and accurate records and time.  A knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings or other structures is vital. Previous exposure to green building techniques is preferred, but not required. All candidates are expected to have reliable transportation and a basic set of carpentry tools.

As a growing company with competitive wage rates, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to advance based upon their skills and work ethic. Opportunities for advancement include lead framing, trim carpentry, and sub-contractor supervision, as well as a raise in compensation.
